Three Wallasey venues named in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide 2027

Several Wirral Venues, including three in Wallasey, have been named in Campaign for Real Ale's annual guide celebrating the best pubs and beer across the UK.

A noteworthy number of Wirral pubs have made CAMRA's Good Beer Guide list for 2027, including three Wallsey pubs. The list ranks the best real ale venues across Merseyside, or pubs with the best atmosphere.

The highly-regarded guide is like gospel for some ale drinkers. It is published annually by the Campaign for Real Ale, and this year's guide includes 72 venues across Merseyside, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Now without further ado, let's give you the pub list.

Leading the way for Wallasey's best pubs according to CAMRA are three locations.

New Brighton

  • The Magazine Hotel, Magazine Brow.

  • Bow-Legged Beagle, Victoria Road.

  • Stanley Cask, Rake Lane.

Birkenhead

  • Gallagher's Pub, Chester Street.

New Ferry

  • The Cleveland Arms, Bebington Road.

Thornton Hough

  • The Red Fox, Liverpool Road.

West Kirby

  • The West Kirby Tap, Grange Road.

Hoylake

  • The Plaster's Arms, Back Sea View.

  • The Black Toad, Market Street.

Greasby

  • The Coach and Horses, Greasby, Greasby Road.

Irby

  • Irby Mill, Mill Lane.

Heswall

  • The Bow-Legged Beagle, Heswall, Telegraph Road.

  • The Harry Beswick, Telegraph Road.

Bebington

  • The Rose & Crown, The Village.

CAMRA chairman Ash Corbett-Collins said: “The Good Beer Guide is fiercely independent, just like the brewers making the best beer. It is the result of the time and effort of our volunteers across the UK to find the pubs serving the best cask beer."
