New Brighton residents, put on your dancing shoes, because a new club night is coming to Riptide this October.
Dolly Does Disco will launch at Riptide on October 2, as reported by Birkenhead News. Four of Merseyside's most experienced DJS will spin six hours' worth of disco, house, and dancefloor classics.
The club night will run from 6 pm until midnight at the Victoria Road live music venue. Hosting is Laura Love, who is known to have played clubs and events across the world. Notably, she's worked with Ministry of Sound.
She is currently a resident DJ for Todd Terry Presents Freeze HiFi in Liverpool and plays Saturday sessions at The James Atherton in New Brighton.
Joining the night is Sean Hughes, whose career has included residencies at Ibiza venues Ushuaïa, Amnesia and Café del Mar.
Liverpool DJ Robbie Edwards will also make an appearance, bringing 35 years of experience to the line-up, with a career spanning Coconut Grove, 3Beat, and regular performances at Paradisco.
Completing the bill is Subcisco, a producer turned DJ who is now a resident at Freeze HiFi, known for his cool house sound mixing style.
Laura Love hopes the event will be the first of many of Dolly Does Disco's events. She hinted that the line-up has "some of the best DJs in the region".
She added that there is a lack of quality DJ events in the Wirral, and that the event will be friendly and inclusive.
"We encourage people to come as they are, wear whatever makes them feel fabulous and dance however they want. The philosophy is respect each other, look after one another and leave judgement at the door," she said.
Dolly Does Disco takes place on Friday 2 October from 6 pm to midnight at Riptide, Victoria Road, New Brighton, CH45 2JF.
