Brimstage Brewery on Brimstage Lane is celebrating two decades of brewing on its old dairy farm.
The independent brewery was set up in 2006 by Neil Young and his sons, Benjamin and Nathaniel, who are continuing the business on.
Head brewer Thomas Menaul, who has been at the brewery since 2011, told the Liverpool Echo: "If you think about the market and the way things are going at the minute for breweries, they're closing down regularly.
"It's quite an achievement for us to be still around after 20 years."
The brewery's motto is still "From the heart of the Wirral", and Thomas says much of its original equipment and brewing process is unchanged.
Its best-selling beer, Trapper's Hat, accounts for around 70 to 80 per cent of sales, according to the Echo. The core range also includes Sandpiper and Scarecrow.
"People in the Wirral see us as being a local brewery. It's the beer of the Wirral, really. We wouldn't be here without all those people," Thomas said.
To mark the anniversary the team brewed Wagtail Pale, a 3.9 per cent light pale ale. It was meant to be a one-off, but it has gone down so well that it is set to become a permanent beer.
The anniversary was marked with a celebration at Brimstage Hall and Courtyard, across the road from the brewery.
Brimstage beers are also stocked by pubs in Liverpool, Chester and North Wales, though Wirral remains the brewery's biggest market.
In August we reported that Maggie's Fest was returning to Brimstage Farm.
