A Wallasey nursery has been judged to meet a strong standard for inclusion by Ofsted.
Penkett Day Nursery, on Penkett Road, was inspected on 24 September. The report was published on 23 October.
The nursery registered with Ofsted in April 2025 and has 60 places for children aged one to four.
Inspectors found leaders and staff work closely with families from the start to understand children's needs and put support in place quickly.
Flexible sessions help children settle, especially those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, and extra support staff help them take part in the full curriculum.
Safeguarding standards were met, and the nursery met the expected standard for:
- Achievement.
- Behaviour and routines.
- Children's welfare and wellbeing.
- Teaching.
- Leadership.
Inspectors said children behave well, share and take turns, and enjoy activities such as dinosaur play, cutting fruit at snack time and outdoor singing.
But they found some children do not get high-quality teaching interactions consistently, and staff do not always build on learning before moving to another activity.
Leaders have been asked to look at how staff can provide high-quality interactions more consistently to support the children's learning.
Parents told inspectors they feel welcomed and involved in their children's days.
The full report is on the Ofsted website. Last month, Ofsted praised a 'dramatic' transformation at Birkenhead Park School.
