Two more actors have joined the cast of this year's Floral Pavilion pantomime, Aladdin, in New Brighton.
Local actor John-Paul Birss will play the Emperor, and Rosie Royle makes her principal debut as the Spirit of the Ring, the theatre and UK Productions announced at the panto's launch event.
Birss's theatre credits include the 25th anniversary cast of Mamma Mia! at the Novello Theatre in the West End. On screen, he has appeared in Netflix's House of Guinness and Peaky Blinders, and is in the forthcoming DC film Clayface.
Royle has previously performed in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Beauty and the Beast at Blackpool Grand Theatre.
They join a cast led by CBBC star James Mackenzie as the villain Abanazar, and Sean Jones, back at the Floral Pavilion for his seventh year as Wishee Washee.
Blackpool performer and radio presenter Scott Gallagher makes his debut as a dame, playing Widow Twankey, with James-Royden Lyley as Aladdin and SIX star Yna Montarde as Princess Jasmine.
Venue manager Pauline Campbell said: "Launch day is when panto really starts to feel real. It's the first time the cast gets together at the theatre and we've assembled a fabulously talented group who are determined to pull out all the stops."
She said audiences had rated the venue's pantos 4.9 out of 5 over the last two years.
Aladdin runs from Saturday, 5 December to Sunday, 3 January. Tickets cost from £15 to £38.50 from the Floral Pavilion website.
We first reported the main cast announcement in September. The theatre is also bringing adult panto Tinderella to New Brighton in 2027.
