The cast has been announced for this year's Christmas pantomime at New Brighton's Floral Pavilion, with CBBC star James Makenzie leading the line-up for the Aladdin production.
Mackenzie, 47, is best known as Raven in the BAFTA-winning CBBC series. He will play the villain Abanazar when the show runs from December 5 to January 3, 2027, as reported by the Wirral Globe.
Starring alongside him is panto fave Sean Jones as Wishee Washee, returning to the Floral Pavilion for his seventh year. Jones is well-known for his award-winning turn as Mickey in Willy Russell's Blood Brothers, with recent credits including Sleeping Beauty, Macbeth at the Epstein Theatre and Wave Me Goodbye at Theatre Clwyd.
Blackpool radio presenter Scott Gallagher will make his pantomime debut as a Dame, Widow Twankey. The North West radio personality has spent 14 years working as a panto comic across the country.
James-Royden Lyley will star in the title role of Aladdin, with SIX the Musical's Yna Montarde taking on the role of Princess Jasmine.
Mackenzie said he was delighted to be returning to the role of Abanazar. "I hope the people of Merseyside and the Wirral are ready to boo me as I get up to all sorts of mischief with the hilarious Sean Jones," he said.
