TV chef Rick Stein is coming to West Kirby next week to talk about his career and his new book.
An Evening with Rick Stein, organised by The West Kirby Bookshop, takes place at Calday Grange Grammar School on Tuesday, 3 November, from 7 to 8:30pm.
The event celebrates the publication of Rick Stein's Cookery Course, which brings together 150 recipes from his 60 years of cooking.
The chef will talk about the book and his career, take questions from the audience and sign copies.
The bookshop has confirmed that he will be interviewed by chef and writer Alasdair Gill, son of the late restaurant critic AA Gill.
The book goes back to basics, with chapters on eggs and dairy, vegetables, fish and shellfish, meat and poultry, and pulses and grains.
Recipes include a simple risotto, twice-baked crab and Emmental soufflé, smoked haddock and spinach pancakes and a Spanish chicken traybake.
Stein made his name with his seafood restaurants in Padstow, Cornwall, and was awarded a CBE in 2018.
Tickets cost £34, including a copy of the book, or £44 for two people with one copy. They are non-refundable.
They are available from The West Kirby Bookshop or on Eventbrite.
The school is on Grammar School Lane. The bookshop says there is some limited parking, good public transport nearby, and it is about a 20-minute walk from the shop.
Stein is also on the November line-up at Heswall bookshop Linghams.
