Families in West Kirby and Hoylake have a couple of Halloween events to choose from this Saturday (31 October).

Hickory's Smokehouse in West Kirby is hosting Creepy Critters from 4pm to 7pm.

The restaurant says visitors can get up close to "spine-tingling special guests", from snakes to mini beasts, and hold them, stroke them and take selfies.

Earlier in the day, Hoylake Parade Community Centre on Hoyle Road is holding a free Halloween autumn craft fair from 10:30am to 3:30pm. The event is being run by  Peninsular Arts and Crafts.

There will be stalls from local makers selling jewellery, home décor and handmade gifts, and the centre's coffee shop will be open. No booking is needed.

For details of the craft fair, call the centre on 0151 632 2889 or email hoylakeparade31@gmail.com.
