Ofsted inspectors have recognised a huge transformation at The Birkenhead Park School, praising significant improvements to the school in recent years.
The report declares that "pupils' experiences at this school have improved dramatically" and states that "the actions that leaders have taken over recent years have led to marked improvements in this school."
Inspectors found pupils who are "incredibly respectful towards staff and each other" and lessons that are very rarely disrupted. They also noted that pupils "feel safe, supported and cared for in school which contributes to them wanting to be here."
The report describes expectations of pupils as "extremely high" and says pupils now have "high aspirations and are well prepared to pursue them."
Inspectors found that pupils with special educational needs "attend regularly, achieve well and feel that they belong in the school community."
Parents and carers were found to recognise the improvements and speak positively about how well the school communicates with them.
Headteacher Mrs Dawes said: "We are incredibly proud that Ofsted has recognised the transformation of The Birkenhead Park School. Those of us who are here every day can see just how far the school has come, but to have inspectors recognise that pupils' experiences have 'improved dramatically' is a very special moment for our whole school community.
She continued, "We have worked hard to create a school with high expectations, where young people are encouraged to be ambitious for themselves and are given the support and opportunities they need to succeed."
Mrs Dawes said the school is "proud" to serve the local community. She also praised families of the children attending the secondary school, saying the achievement belongs to "our pupils, staff, and families".
