A popular Bebington pub has reopened following almost three-week refurbishment.
The Acorn on Village Road in Bebington has revealed its fresh new look, with upgraded interiors and a redesigned space that brings the Sizzling Pub into a more modern era, as reported by the Wirral Globe.
The revamped venue continues to offer a menu of familiar favourites, including the K-Pop Crunch, Crispy Sweet Chilli Chicken and Pork Tomahawk, along with desserts such as Caramelised Waffle and Chocolate Fudge Cake.
Zoe Marsland, General Manager at The Acorn, said in a statement, "We're incredibly proud to be welcoming everyone back. The refurbishment has given the pub a completely fresh feel while keeping everything our guests love about it."
She added that seeing new and old faces come to the pub has been "fantastic", as many have been curious about the remodel. The pub reopened last week.
The Acorn has been a staple in Bebington for years. It started as a pub owned by Birkenhead Brewery, opening in May 1960, with its licence transferred from the Royal Oak pub that stood before it.
The pub opened with a slightly limited menu, but it was all hands on deck after reopening.
The Royal Oak was a Grade II listed building that had been owned by Birkenhead Brewery since at least the 1880s. When it closed on 5 May 1960, The Acorn opened the very next day to serve the expanding post-war suburban population of Higher Bebington.
The Acorn continues to operate under Sizzling, and often shows live sports and hosts a pub quiz every Thursday at 8 pm.
