1. Rose & Crown
This pub is a former coaching inn built in 1732; the Rose & Crown on The Village is considered to be one of the best pubs in Bebington. Beers from the Thwaites list are on the menu, with a mixture of beers from local breweries as well. The pub was refurbished fairly recently, and specialises in cask beer. The pub received a local CAMRA Branch Pub of Excellence award in 2022 and a Community Pub award, and was recently named among the best in the UK.
It is a typical pub, with live music some weekends, but it regularly hosts events to keep clientele entertained, making it a great spot. It is also very close to Mayer Park and to Port Sunlight. It is open 1 pm- 11:30 pm Monday to Thursday, and from 1 pm to 11:30 pm Friday to Sunday.
2. The Hoptimist
The Hoptimist is well-known across the Wirral, with two locations in Bebington and New Brighton, but is well-appreciated in Bebington. It is adjacent to the Broadway roundabout and opened in March 2024, but has since become a local hit. The micro pub has more space inside, with bright lights and a bar serving a mixture of cocktails, brewed beers and spirits. We recommend you try one of the strawberry beers.
It was named Wirral CAMRA Pub of the Season Summer 2024. The pub is open from Tuesday 5 pm-9 pm, Wednesday 4 pm- 11 pm, 3 pm- 11 pm on Thursday and Friday, and 2 pm- 11 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
3. The Three Stags
The Three Stags is a large and open-plan pub on Church Road, in Bebington. The Ember Inns pub is well-liked in the area, and is known for its fresh pub classics and wide menu selection. The beer garden is a big highlight, especially in the summer.
Cask Club offers £1 off a pint of cask beer all day Monday and Thursday. The pub also hosts a quiz night every Wednesday for some midweek entertainment. The Fixed Price Menu offers a set menu for both lunch and dinner, with three courses for lunch costing£13.79, and 2 costing £11.29. In the evening, three courses cost £16.99, and two COURSES total £14.49. Overall, The Three Stags serves a mixture of pub classics, salads, sandwiches, and desserts.
The Three Stags is open 11 am to 11 pm Monday to Thursday, and Sunday, and from 11 am to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
4. Traveller's Rest
The Traveller's Rest is a popular fixture of Bebington, close to Storteton Woods on Mount Road. The pub is also a former coaching inn, but gives off a more country pub vibe. The pub has two other rooms available to hire and is praised for its cosy feel, cask ales, and homemade food. As well as being cosy, the pub is known for having regular live bands and music sets, and often gets packed on a Sunday with people wanting their Sunday roast.
The pub is open from 12 pm to 11 pm every day.
5. The Bow-Legged Beagle
A simple micropub or brewery, The Bow-Legged Beagle puts beer at the forefront of the customer experience. Located on Allport Lane, their speciality is craft ale and speciality alcohol that is locally sourced. The pub won the Wirral CAMRA Pub of the Season back in 2018, and we can see why. This venue also screams cosy, with warm lighting and simple furnishings. Many people love this spot because it's dog-friendly, and the owners have their very own Beagle named Bobby who inspired the name.
The owners are John Smith and Andy Williams. The pub is closed on Monday and Tuesday, but open from 3 pm to 10 pm Wednesday to Saturday, and 3 pm to 7 pm on Sundays.
6. Bridge Inn
Inside Port Sunlight Village is the charming Bridge Inn Pub, which has over 2,000 reviews on Google. The pub was built in 1900 and is situated inside a Grade II listed building. As a Greene King pub, Bridge Inn serves classic pub dishes, grills, and a wide selection of spirits, beers, and cocktails, but it's the location that people love. The pub is described as accessible and has its own car park. Unfortunately, the future of the pub has been considered uncertain due to speculation that Greene King may sell the mock-Tudor building.
However, for now, the pub remains serving the community and is adored by locals.
It is open from 9 am to 8:30 pm Monday to Saturday, and 9 am to 8 pm on Sunday.
