Health and beauty retailer Savers is opening a new store in Birkenhead town centre today (Wednesday, 28 October).

The shop, on Borough Pavement in the Grange Precinct, opens to the public at 9.30am.

The first 500 customers to make a purchase on opening day will get a free goody bag worth more than £15, the company says.

Savers sells household, health and beauty products from well-known brands, including discounted perfumes.

Sean Watret, stores operations director at Savers, said: "I am delighted to announce the opening of Savers in Birkenhead.

"Our customers can expect to shop the brands they love at unbeatable prices."

Regional manager Mark Ashworth said the store team were "ready to assist you and are committed to delivering the best customer service".

The chain has more than 500 stores across the UK.

After today, the Birkenhead store will open from 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday, and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.

The opening comes as work continues on Birkenhead town centre, with the move to the new Birkenhead Market confirmed for February 2027.

Earlier this month, a Birkenhead discount shop was shut down after a raid uncovered fake toys and illegal tobacco.
