Rescue attempt after group cut off by incoming tide

West Kirby's lifeboat crew was launched today after four people were cut off by the incoming tide just off Thurstaston beach.

Emergency services, including the Wirral Coastguard Rescue Team, North West Ambulance Service and Northwest Air Ambulance, were called just before 11am.

The lifeboat crew brought the casualties to shore where they were given a check up by medical teams on the scene.
