A new Morrisons Daily store is set to open in New Brighton next month, as reported by the Liverpool Echo. It is taking over the former Roberts Plumbing and Bathroom Supplies unit on Zig Zag Road.

The store is expected to open on August 13, provided everything goes well. The supermarket said the premises have been redesigned to feel modern and bright.

The shop will offer a selection of Morrisons own-brand products alongside well-known branded favourites.

Morrisons has also applied to Wirral Council for permission to sell alcohol at the premises between 7 am and 11 pm, seven days a week. A public consultation on the licence application is currently running and closes on August 12, after which the application could be referred to the licensing committee if representations are made.

Members of the public can submit their views on the alcohol licence before the deadline.

New Brighton also has a Morrisons superstore on King's Parade, very close to the beach. Ahead of the opening, Morrisons has been rolling out AI-powered trolleys, starting in Preston, which are supposed to make the shopping experience faster. However, they haven't been rolled out in New Brighton yet.
