A man has been arrested while two e-bikes were seized following reports of anti-social behaviour on a field in New Brighton.
Yesterday (September 21), police came to Marine Promenade at around 1:40 pm, after reports of a group of males riding e-bikes in an anti-social manner. The group attempted to flee the area, but police later detained one suspect and seized two e-bikes.
A 22-year-old Liscard man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Sergeant Phil Everett said those who choose to ride e-bikes illegally or use them to commit crime should understand that action will be taken.
He said: "Across the whole of Merseyside, we are deploying a range of tactics to identify offenders, disrupt their activity, seize vehicles and bring those responsible to justice."
The incident forms part of Operation Gears, the Merseyside Police campaign targeting the illegal use of e-bikes linked to serious crime, robberies and anti-social behaviour across the region.
