A new rapid electric vehicle charging hub has opened at a retail park in Bromborough, giving local drivers another option for topping up their batteries while hitting the shops.

The facility offers rapid charging, which can significantly reduce the time needed to charge an electric vehicle compared to standard chargers, according to the Wirral Globe.

It is located at the popular Croft Retail Park. The installment marks a partnership between Zest and cafe franchise owner Cafe Fortune. If you need it, you'll find the charging hub at the Starbucks and Wendy's in the park. There are six 120-kilowatt charging bays.

The new hub is part of a growing network of EV charging infrastructure across the Wirral as more drivers make the switch to electric vehicles.

Ian Gill, property director at Cafe Fortune, said in a statement: "I’m pleased to continue our partnership with Zest to bring rapid EV charging to our Bromborough Starbucks and Wendy’s location."

He continued, "This investment enhances the experience for our customers, allowing them to recharge both themselves and their vehicles during their visit, while supporting the continued transition to electric mobility across the region."

In addition to improving the charging infrastructure, the partnership aims to support residents and visitors to the retail park and enhance their accessibility.

The charging bays are now open for business. Let us know where you'd like to see more of them in the Wirral next.
