A 40-year-old Moreton man has appeared in court charged with two offences following a stabbing in Woodchurch last week.
According to the Wirral Globe, Glynn Joseph Holland, of Meadfoot Road in Moreton, was charged with section 18 wounding and possession of a knife in a public place following the incident on June 25.
Police were called to Hoole Road around 3.40 pm after a man in his 60s was assaulted with a knife outside a shop. The victim, who residents say is a wheelchair user, was hospitalised with serious injuries and remains in a serious but stable condition.
The incident has caused a stir on social media, with some residents alleging a local young boy witnessed the attack, and many others on the estate being shocked and surprised by the attack, which happened in broad daylight.
Holland entered no plea at Liverpool Magistrates Court on June 27. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on July 27 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
