Man sentenced after carrying kitchen knife at Tranmere apartments

A 50-year-old man has been given a suspended prison sentence after admitting to carrying a kitchen knife at Pembroke Court in Tranmere.

A man has been sentenced after admitting carrying a kitchen knife in a public place in Tranmere, according to the Wirral Globe.

Appearing at Wirral Magistrates Court, Gary Upton, 50, was sentenced yesterday after pleading guilty to possessing a knife blade/ sharp-pointed article in a public place.

He was carrying the knife around a recreational space at Pembroke Court in Tranmere on March 18 of this year.

Upton, of Mary Cole House on Sandford Street in Birkenhead, was handed a six-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months.

He was also ordered to undergo nine months of alcohol treatment and 20 days of rehab.
