Drivers using the M53 motorway face overnight closures on the westbound carriageway as resurfacing work begins on the Moreton Spur.
As reported by the Liverpool Echo, councils across the Liverpool City Region have issued public notices such as planning applications and road closures, and the Moreton Spur is one of the important areas closing.
National Highways has confirmed the westbound carriageway will be closed from the exit slip road at Junction 2a to Moreton Road Bridge. The closures will be in place overnight between 9 pm and 6 am, which started on 21 September and continuing until Saturday 10 October.
Diversion routes via alternative M53 junctions and local roads will be signposted. Emergency services and traffic officer vehicles are exempt from the prohibition.
