A fashion content creator has praised Heswall's charity shops after picking up designer items at a fraction of their retail prices during a visit to the village, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Sophie Newman, 31, is a personal stylist from Canterbury known as @slowfashionsoph.
The fashion creator shares her outfits and styling moments with her 32,000 followers on Instagram. From a haul of Wirral items back in June, she shared that she found a:
A red patterned pleated lampshade from Pooky - found at Roy Castle Foundation Shop in Heswall.
From the viral New Life Moreton shop, she found mesh ballet flats from Sainsbury's, a black floral skort from All Saints, and a sleeveless waistcoat from Levi's.
From North West Air Ambulance in Heswall, she discovered a Vivienne Westwood dress priced at £20, but she did not buy it. Dresses from the British designer usually sell for between £250 and over £5,000; she also found a Monet bracelet and a leopard print Saress.
Newman, whose work centres on second-hand and sustainable fashion, said Heswall's charity shops offered far better value than those in Kent.
Comparing prices with her home county, she added: "Heswall is considered to be a more expensive area, but the charity shops are far cheaper than they are down in Kent."
She added, "If that was in Kent, that would probably be £50, £60, maybe £70."
During her visit, she also spotted vintage silk pyjamas and 100% wool jumpers. Her favourite destination was the North West Air Ambulance Charity Shop, which she praised for its mix of fashion, furniture and homeware.
Newman said she "definitely needs to move to Wirral" for the charity shop offerings.
