Eight schools, colleges and multi-academy trusts from Wirral have been shortlisted for this year's Educate Awards, with several from the Birkenhead area among the finalists.
The Birkenhead Park School has been shortlisted for Most Inspirational Secondary School, while Clare Mount Specialist Sports College in Claughton is up for the WOW Recognition Award. Bidston Avenue Primary School has received two nominations – for Outstanding Commitment to the Environment & Sustainability and Outstanding Commitment to Sport in Primary School.
St Peter and Paul Catholic Primary School in New Brighton is shortlisted for Most Inspirational Primary School, and Oak Trees Multi Academy Trust, which operates schools across Wirral, is nominated for Most Inspirational Multi Academy Trust.
Lily Clark from Ridgeway High School in Neston has been shortlisted for Teacher of the Year, while West Kirby Grammar School is nominated for Outstanding Arts in Secondary School.
The shortlist was revealed on Wednesday 16 September via the awards' social media channels. Winners will be announced at a ceremony at Liverpool Cathedral on Friday 13 November.
Now in its fifteenth year, the Educate Awards is described as the largest education awards in the North West, bringing together nurseries, schools, colleges and multi-academy trusts from Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside.

She added: "Selecting the shortlist has been no mean feat for our judges, and we are now looking forward to celebrating with all finalists as we prepare to roll out our iconic red carpet in November for an awards ceremony befitting our fifteenth anniversary."
The ceremony will feature live performances from schools across the region and a three-course gala dinner.
