A Tranmere Rovers supporter has been banned from attending the team's matches for three years after he had an altercation with opposition fans at a recent away game.
As reported by the Wirral Globe, Paul Roberts, 20, from Tranmere, was attending Rovers' League Two fixture at Vale Park on 22 August, when he was removed from the Tranmere end. He re-entered the stadium and became involved in an altercation with Port Vale fans before being removed again and arrested.
Roberts appeared at Staffordshire Magistrates Court today (19 September), where he pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
He was handed a three-year football banning order, meaning not only can he not attend Tranmere's games, but he also can't attend any other games during that time. Roberts was also fined £184 and ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £74 victim surcharge.
