Two women have been charged following a series of shop thefts and a criminal behaviour order breach in Wirral.
On 16 September at around 2 pm, officers saw a woman leaving Midland Street and walking towards Birkenhead town centre.
Police stopped Amy McCarthy, 32, of New Ferry Road, and arrested her on suspicion of breaching a criminal behaviour order.
McCarthy was remanded into custody and appeared at Liverpool and Knowsley Magistrates' Court on Thursday 17 September, where she pleaded guilty to the offence.
In another separate incident, on 15 September at around 8:40 pm, police received a report that a woman had taken several items from Tesco on Upton Road in Claughton.
Officers later arrested Lacey Pimblett, 33, of no fixed address, and charged her with seven counts of theft following reports of other thefts from Go Local Extra and Home Bargains in Seacombe.
Pimblett was remanded into custody and appeared at Liverpool and Knowsley Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 16 September.
The charges against both women coincide with Merseyside Police's Operation Dale, launched in August to tackle retail crime with faster justice for victims and a focus on targeting wider criminality.
The arrests come shortly after a 29-year-old Moreton woman was charged with six shop thefts across Wirral supermarkets that occurred between June and September 2026.
