The first residents have moved into a new housing development in Bebington named after a renowned local sportswoman.
Lottie Gardens, located off Quarry Road East, is being developed by Anwyl Homes, according to the Wirral Globe, and has properties ranging from one to four bedrooms. The development is named after athlete Lottie Dod, who was from Bebington. Dod won Wimbledon as a teenager at age 15 and competed in archery at the Olympics, as well as competing separately in field hockey and golf.
The site is being built on land once owned by Unilever's Port Sunlight Research and Development facility. Each property has its own garden and off-road parking.
Close by is a woodland area that is being improved as part of the development, with a new footpath connecting to St Andrews Road. Residents will have access to Bebington's many amenities with what is described as good transport links.
Recently, the neighbouring Bromborough area has been alive with property development plans, with Vistry requesting to build 534 homes on brownfield land in the area off Dock Road South, about a seven-minute drive from Lottie Gardens.
On the development, Graeme Gibb, sales director at Anwyl Homes, said: "It's always a proud moment to welcome the first residents to a new development and see a community begin to take shape. Lottie Gardens has attracted a strong level of interest since its launch, and it's wonderful to see homeowners now enjoying life here."
Two professionally styled show homes – the Ellen and Cheltenham designs – are now open to visitors. The sales centre and show homes are open daily from 10 am to 5:30 pm.
