A major housing development with more than 500 homes could be built on brownfield land in Bromborough if plans are approved by Wirral Council.
As reported by The Intermediary, Housebuilding company Vistry has lodged a Reserved Matters planning application for the 35-acre site. They've proposed to build 424 homes, from one- to four-bedroom properties. As well as the homes, they want to add a care facility with 110 apartments.
According to plans, half of the proposed homes would be affordable housing, delivered with registered housing providers. The rest would be privately sold through Bovis and Linden Homes.
Also in the plans are ideas for play areas, a new public space, and financial contributions to local services.
Vistry said it intends to use its Partnerships model to support delivery of the scheme, subject to planning approval.
Bromborough has also been the area where another major affordable homes scheme has been developed. The River Walk development offered a First Homes scheme to help Bromborough buyers purchase starter homes at a discounted price. Unfortunately, only 13 homes on the development were available for purchase when it was announced in June. This scheme was run by Persimmon Homes and the houses were on the market for between £254,995 and £389,995 without a discount.
