Top 10 Open finish for Hoylake's Matthew Jordan

Table of Contents

Hoylake golfer Matthew Jordan has equaled his performance at The Open at the Royal Liverpool Golf Course in 2023, in this year's tournament at Royal Troon in South Ayrshire.

He finished in equal tenth position with Australian Adam Scott and fellow Englishman Daniel Brown after carding a par 71 in each of the four rounds, despite tough conditions.

The 28-year-old had qualified for the event after finishing in the same position on his home course in July last year.

It means he takes home around £245,000 in prize money, and automatically qualifies for next year's tournament at Royal Portrush in County Antrim.

The Royal Liverpool Golf Club posted congratulations on their X feed, describing his performance as "brilliant".
