Good news for anyone who sends their children to this Upton nursery - it met expected standards, according to a recent Ofsted report.

According to the Wirral Globe, Overton Nursery and Pre-School Centre on Royden Road was rated as meeting expected standards following an inspection on 21 May. The nursery was described as "calm but busy" and praised children for displaying "exemplary" behaviour.

The praise continued, with the report stating children played nicely, followed rules and took turns when playing hide and seek. Even the nursery's youngest children were observed as being confident in activities such as fetching their water bottles!

"Children experience a broad and well-sequenced curriculum that supports their learning and development," the inspector said in the report. "They learn in an inclusive environment where they feel able to take part fully and achieve well."

The nursery caters for those aged 0 to 10 and encourages independence in the children. This includes managing daily routines such as using washcloths after meals, clearing plates, and putting toys away. Even younger children learn to develop language and sensory skills through sensory play.

Furthermore, the nursery was praised for being inclusive of SEND children, as these children follow the same curriculum as other children. Also in the report, it was highlighted that the nursery does regular check-ins and offers tailored support strategies while working closely with parents and external professionals.

On the other side, staff told inspectors they felt supported by nursery leaders in training and supporting wellbeing. Children of the nursery were also reportedly happy to come in and leave their parents' care.
