A business in Tranmere has been ordered to close for three months after neighbours reported persistent antisocial behaviour including dog attacks, burning materials creating noxious fumes, and visitors arriving at all hours.

As reported by the Liverpool Echo, The Closure Order was permitted by the court yesterday against the Dial Road property. The fire also attracted attention last month, when a large fire, which required 14 fire engines, was started.

Evidence presented in court revealed frequent visitors at all hours, noise pollution, and anti-social behaviour, which residents have highlighted. Dog attacks by animals kept on the site have also caused issues. Cars have even been left in neighbouring roads, blocking nearby residents from accessing their homes.

Residents told the court of the disruption to their lives that has occurred as a result of the property, such as sleep deprivation, intimidation by visitors to the property, and an inability to peacefully enjoy their homes.

The fire on September 25 saw the Dial Tyres business on fire along with a neighbouring two-storey house. One person and two dogs were rescued from the burning property.

Councillor Jenny Johnson, Chair of Wirral Council's Tourism, Communities, Culture and Leisure Committee, said: "For far too long, this premises has not acted like a good neighbour at all – in fact, through a variety of actions and behaviours, it has made many residents' lives a misery.

"A Closure Order is one of the strongest powers available to local authorities and is used where premises are associated with serious nuisance, disorder, or criminality."

Breaching a Closure Order is a criminal offence and can result in imprisonment, a fine, or both.
