A woman has been arrested following an assault in Tranmere that left a man in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

As reported by the Wirral Globe, police were called at 9:20 am on October 8, to reports that a man in his 70s had been assaulted and sustained a head injury on Queen Street.

Emergency services attended the scene, and the man was taken to hospital.

A 34-year-old woman from Tranmere was arrested at the scene on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent. She remains in police custody.
