Positive news on the employment front! At least 150 jobseekers walked away with job offers or follow-up interviews following an employment fair hosted in Birkenhead town centre.
As reported by the Wirral Globe, 1756 people attended the four-hour jobs fair, which took place at Birkenhead Market's outdoor space. The event was organised by Wirral Jobcentres in partnership with Wirral Borough Council.
38 employers from the Wirral and Liverpool attended to offer opportunities to job seekers.
Maritime specialist Cammell Laird described the event as a success. A spokesman for the company said: "It was a fantastic event that provided valuable encouragement for individuals, highlighting the range of opportunities available to them. We were delighted to be involved and proud to support our local community."
Lauren Newall, senior partnership lead for Merseyside, said: "We want to work with you to fill your vacancies. Our Jobcentres are open for recruitment events tailored to individual employers, and we regularly host jobs fairs that bring multiple businesses together under one roof. We can also organise work academies and boot camps to help prepare candidates for your roles."
Every employer who came said they'd be happy to take part in future job fairs.
Jobseekers are encouraged to explore vacancies listed on the Find a Job website, where there are currently 1,000 live vacancies. Roles are situated within a range of areas, including Education, the Ministry of Justice, and Citizens Advice.
