Heswall among postcodes affected by Merseyside Royal Mail delays

Postal customers across the Wirral will experience delivery delays, as Royal Mail has confirmed disruptions in Heswall, Hoylake, and New Ferry. The delays are due to high levels of sickness absences, resourcing issues, and local factors, which depend on the area.

Royal Mail has confirmed delivery delays are affecting Heswall and other areas of the Wirral, with the delivery offices covering the postcodes facing disruption.

As reported by the Liverpool Echo, the postal service issued an update today, listing 142 postcodes where customers should expect delays to their mail. Several areas in the Wirral are affected. Here is the full list:

Heswall

  • CH31, CH60, CH61.

Hoylake

  • CH47, CH48.

New Ferry

  • CH32, CH62, CH63.

Royal Mail said high levels of sick absence, resourcing issues and other local factors were behind the problems at some delivery offices.

The company said: "In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors. In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers."

Royal Mail added that it is providing targeted support to affected offices to restore normal service. The company normally aims to deliver to all addresses by 4:30 pm on every working day, Monday to Saturday.

Other Merseyside areas experiencing delays include Woolton (L25-L27).

Royal Mail said: "We're sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding."
