The Wirral BTR 10k took place on Sunday, with over 1,191 competitors taking place, according to the organisation. A month before the 10k, the event passed over 1,000 entries.

As everyone knows, this year's route altered its course slightly, with the race beginning and ending on King's Parade, near The Dips. It's been five years since the event followed this particularly route.

It marked the end of BTR Liverpool's running calendar - at least competitively - and some locals claimed the top spots.

Two Wallasey AC runners won big at this year's BTR Wirral 10K. Joseph Boden crossing the line first in 31 minutes 59 seconds and clubmate Oliver Chadwick finishing just three seconds behind.

BTR also stated that the two men had completed a series of BTR events this year, also taking first and second place in the Mersey Tunnel 10K in April.

Close behind the two in bronze position was Elliot Clayton from Warrington AC in 33 minutes 9 seconds.

In the women's race, Bethany Ord took first place in 37 minutes 51 seconds. Harriet Jones from Vale Royal AC was second in 37 minutes 59 seconds.

Everyone who took part was rewarded, with a commemorative medal, T-shirt and goody bag.

BTR Liverpool founder Alan Rothwell said in a statement: "Well done to all 1,191 runners who came out, raced, and crossed the finish line. Spectators were out in force cheering on runners, and always a big thank you to our brilliant volunteers – they really are the backbone to every BTR event."

He added: "Congratulations to our winners, showing real grit and determination. And well done to Joseph and Oliver from Wallasey AC recording a hat-trick of podium places across this year's BTR race portfolio. What a way to sign off the competitive BTR races for 2026."
