The Oval Lesiure Centre in Bebington is helping children learn to cycle this half-term with balance bike classes.
The Bikeability sessions will teach youngsters the core skills of balance and steering on pedal-free training bicycles, preparing them for the move to a standard bike.
Ckasses are running from 26 to 30 October between 10 and 11 am. There will also be further sessions at West Kirby Concourse on Thursday 29 October at the same times. Each session costs £8 and can be booked through Active Wirral.
Qualified instructors will be leading the classes, with games and activities planned to make it fun for the children.
One mum whose son recently took part described the impact on his cycling journey. She told Wirral View: "The course was absolutely fantastic for both of us. It really helped with his confidence and it helped to show me how best to support him when learning how to cycle."
She added: "By the end of the session, he was balancing confidently on the balance bikes. This gave us both the confidence to remove his stabilisers from his home bike."
His family removed the pedals from his bike at home, and now he can cycle comfortably.
His mum added: "I fully believe that the Bikeability course was the key to helping him to learn this vital lifelong skill."
