Detectives are appealing for information following two arson attacks at the same address on Lumley Road, Poulton in Wallasey this week.

The doormat of a property was set on fire at 2:45 am on 15 October, resulting in damage to a window. The fire was promptly put out and no one was injured.

Later that evening at around 8:50pm, a vehicle was set alight outside the same address. The fire was put out before Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service arrived. Two males dressed in black riding an electric bike were seen leaving the area towards Poulton Road just after the incident.

Detective Superintendent Joe Marston said: "We are in the early stages of a joint investigation into what were both reckless and dangerous incidents that could have caused serious harm to people living in the area.

"Thankfully no one was hurt but we are determined to find the person(s) responsible as soon as possible.

"I would like to reassure residents that we believe these were isolated incidents and over the coming days there will be an increase in police reassurance patrols in the area.

Mr Martston urged anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously on Lumley Road to come forward with information, CCTV or Ring doorbell footage.
