Local primary schools across the Wirral are being invited to celebrate the end of the school year in the most adorable way. They're being invited to Wirral Ark's Teddy Bears' Picnic on 10 July.
According to Birkenhead News, Wirral Ark supports people experiencing homelessness across the Wirral and is encouraging schools to hold teddy-themed picnics. The aim is to give children a way to celebrate the school year ending while they learn about kindness, community and other important skills.
Schools are encouraged to make the day individual with their own picnic lunches, teddies, stories, games, and fundraising activities. But if schools want a guide, Wirral Ark has prepared an activity pack with suggested games, teddy-themed bookmarks and colouring sheets.
Any schools who take part will get one of the charity's special Arky teddy bears and a copy of their upcoming book, Ted Without a Bed.
Rachel Murdock, Development Manager for Wirral Ark, said in a statement: "The Teddy Bears' Picnic is a wonderful way for children to have fun together at the end of term while supporting a local cause. We hope lots of schools across Wirral will get involved and enjoy a day filled with smiles, stories and teddy bears, while helping raise awareness of the challenges faced by Wirral people experiencing homelessness."
Funds raised during the teddy picnics will help Wirral Ark's charity work and help them to provide safe accommodation and support for people across the Wirral.
Any schools interested in taking part can register with Wirral Ark at fundraising@wirralark.org.uk to receive their free Arky bear, along with ideas to help make the day special for the children.
