West Kirby is to get a share of £20k to boost the high street.
Wirral Council has secured funding from Liverpool City Region Growth Hub to support businesses in West Kirby and New Brighton through a group called Save the High Street.
The move has been welcomed by community group One West Kirby.
They said: "This is particularly welcome news for One West Kirby, as we've been making the case for targeted support for our town centre for some time.
"Our October 2025 Town Centre Report highlighted some of the challenges facing West Kirby, including increasing numbers of vacant premises, the loss of traditional retail businesses and changes to the balance of our high street.
"We've continued to build on that evidence through conversations with local businesses, and Council officers, pressing for practical measures that will help increase footfall, support independent businesses and maintain a diverse high street with a strong retail offer.
"We want West Kirby to remain somewhere people come not just to eat and drink, but also to browse, shop and discover our independent retailers. The confirmation of this funding is an important opportunity to turn those discussions into practical support.
"We're keen to work with Save the High Street, the Council and our Wonderful West Kirby business network to ensure the programme is shaped by the needs of local businesses and delivers tangible benefits.
"A big thank you to our local councillors for working so hard with officers to secure the funding and recognising the importance of supporting our town centres. We'll share more details as the programme develops."
