Hoylake restaurant Lino's is to dish up its final meal on Christmas Day, marking the end of 43 years of service.

It has been serving up British and Mediterranean cuisine on Market Street since 1983.

It was originally opened by husband and wife Lino and Barbara Galantini, with their son Enrico as commis chef. They had previously run the Cottage Loaf in Thurstaston.

Enrico took over the running in the late 1990s when his father became ill and had to stop working and his mother retired to help look after him.

In a post on social media, Enrico said: "After 43 wonderful years, the time has finally come to say goodbye.

"Christmas Day 2026 will see our final service. It’s hard to put all those years into words.. so many stories, memories made around our tables.

"To every customer, friend and members of our teams over all of those years who have helped us along our journey, a huge thank you.

"You made Lino’s the place it has been.. a part of Hoylake’s community for all those years we will be forever grateful."
