A guided tour of the clubhouse at the Royal Liverpool Golf Course in Hoylake is among the events taking place locally as part of this year's Heritage Open Days.
The theme for this year is 'Everyday Histories'.
Jerry Williams, Wirral Council's Heritage Champion, said: "Wirral has a wealth of incredible history spanning many different periods.
"From Viking settlements and Roman roads to the Blitz and beyond, Heritage Open Days truly offers something for everyone.
"The events are free to enjoy and provide the chance to discover places, stories and heritage right on your doorstep that you may never have known existed.
"It is a fantastic opportunity to explore, learn and get involved."
The events in West Kirby, Caldy and Hoylake are listed below:
Saturday 12 September
Guided tour of Hoylake
A two hour guided tour of historic Hoylake, revealing evidence of its earliest origins.
The walk will also explore its role as an agricultural, maritime, recreational and residential settlement with links to the commerce of the Dee and Mersey Estuaries as well as the rest of the United Kingdom, the British Empire and wider world.
Come prepared for all weathers and for walking on urban streets and on the beach.
Meet at the train station at 10am.
West Kirby Museum
The museum at St. Bridget's Centre will be open from 10am - 4pm.
Admission is free and there will be films, local history books for sale and refreshments.
St Bridget's Church will also be open.
Caldy Church
The Edwardian village church on Caldy Road was converted from a Victorian school.
It has fittings and some windows by Charles Kempe brought from the chapel of Caldy Manor next door.
It is open from 10am - 4pm.
Melrose Hall, Hoylake
Melrose Hall is a village hall providing a venue for local groups and community events. The Hall was built to commemorate King George VI.
They will be showing changes in Hoylake over the last 70 years from 10am - 4pm (also open on Sunday 13 September).
Monday 14 September
History of Mariners' Beacon and Caldy Hill
Learn about the sites and other areas and discover how the management of the land has changed over the decades.
It starts at 10:30am and will take two hours.

Tuesday 15 September
St Hildeburgh's Church, Hoylake
The church is a Grade II listed building, designed by the Liverpool architect, Edmund Kirby, and built between 1897 and 1899.
It became the Parish Church of Hoylake in the 1980s. Construction is of red brick and terracotta with a tile roof. Many interesting memorials and stained glass windows.
It is open from 10am - 3pm and refreshments will be available in the church hall (including bacon butties until 12pm).
Thursday 17 September
Royal Liverpool Golf Club, Meols Drive
An opportunity to learn more about one of the most historically significant clubs in world golf.
There will be a guided heritage tour of the facility that has hosted 13 Open Championships and 19 Amateur Championships.
There is a dress code – a jacket & tie or ladies equivalent and no jeans, trainers or t-shirts.
The tours are taking place at 9:30am and 2.30pm and take two hours.

Ranger's Walk - Royden Park & Thurstaston Hill
A guided walk around the walled gardens at Royden Park then onto Thurstaston Hill and Thors Rock learning about the history of the area.
It starts at 10:30am and lasts for two hours.

Sunday 20 September
Hilbre Island Open Day
Organised by the Friends of Hilbre, it will include a chance to view the Telegraph Station, Lifeboat Station and Buoymaster’s Store.
Volunteers will serve refreshments and telescopes will be set up to view the seal colony.
It takes approximately 45 mins to walk to Hilbre depending on age and fitness.
On this date it will be safe to cross from 9:30am and visitors must leave the island before 3:30pm.
