The group behind New Brighton's Victoria Quarter regeneration has secured a meeting with Network Rail to discuss the condition of the town's railway station.
As reported by the Wirral Globe, Rory Wilmer, who runs community interest company New Brighton Creative Futures, said he has raised concerns "many times" about rust, peeling paint and disrepair on the platform.
In a social media post, Mr Wilmer said: "This is not the welcome New Brighton deserves. Peeling paint and rust across the station canopy. Cones and hazard tape on the platform. Bin bags hung from a pillar. Rusting, broken bins on the street outside."
He described the station as the "gateway to the town" that sets the tone for visitors, and also raised concerns about street furniture, bins, lampposts and signs in the surrounding area.
The group has now announced it received a "very positive" response from Network Rail. Mr Wilmer thanked councillor Steve Foulkes for his support in securing the meeting.
He said: "We've raised it with our MP and the relevant local councillors, and we've now had a very positive response from Network Rail, who have agreed to sit down and talk with us."
The group also announced the creation of a new campaign called Friends of New Brighton Station.
Mr Wilmer added: "We just want New Brighton to shine, and for every visitor and commuter to get the warmest possible welcome."
New Brighton Creative Futures is also responsible for the OpenAir Gallery, a walkable street art trail through the Victoria Quarter.
OpenAIR Gallery is also responsible for the recent mural for New Brighton street cleaner Kenny Dunn, which was unveiled in August. Mr Dunn's mural is also visible in the Victoria Quarter, celebrating his decade-long service to New Brighton.
