Leasowe Castle is up for sale with a price tag of £2.3 million after the luxury wedding venue and hotel closed its doors suddenly.
The historic property, which sits on the Wirral coastline near Leasowe, had been operating as a popular wedding venue and hotel before its unexpected closure.
The castle dates back to the 16th century and is one of the oldest brick buildings in the country. It has served various purposes over the centuries before becoming a hotel and events venue.
The sale comes as a blow to couples who may have had weddings booked at the venue and to staff who worked there. The reasons behind the sudden closure have not been fully disclosed.
Estate agents are now marketing the Grade II listed building, which features multiple function rooms, bedrooms and extensive grounds overlooking the Irish Sea.
