Wirral playwright Jo 'O'Byrne is bringing his latest work to the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton this Friday, starting with a new tale from his Paradise Heights series, as reported by Birkenhead News.
Diane's Deli is a supernatural revenge thriller that follows a café owner named Sean Ginty in the fictional town of Paradise Heights, who wears a watch that stopped over 25 years ago. He is a father figure to his two staff members, Jake, who is a literature student, and Gabrielle, an artist who survived a horrific fire that left her orphaned.
The story gets dark when a mysterious woman comes to the café late one night, setting off a chain of events with devastating consequences for all involved. A burnt-out detective, DS Mackey, also has his eye on Sean and is curious about his past. There is also a question of the cafe being haunted...
O'Byrne's works are known for being unexpected, and his latest show is described as a "beautifully eerie blend of the supernatural and the dangerous."
Diane's Deli is at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton on 4 September at 7:30 pm. Tickets cost £29 for adults or £25 for concessions, but not for children. The show carries an age guidance of 16 and over.
