Tranmere Rovers have paid tribute to former chairman Gerry Gould, who passed away at the remarkable age of 99.
Mr Gould became a director at Prenton Park during the 1967/68 season and served on the club's board for over a decade before he became chairman during the 1982/83 season, as reported by the Wirral Globe.
He was in charge for two seasons and stepped down when the club was purchased by Bruce Osterman in 1984.
While he may've left his role, Mr Gould maintained close ties with the club through his position as partner at local chartered accountants McEwan Wallace, a partnership that continues with his family today.
In a statement, Tranmere Rovers said: "Tranmere Rovers Football Club sends its condolences to the family and friends of former chairman Gerry Gould. Gerry remained in close partnership with the club through his role as partner at local chartered accountants, McEwan Wallace, a partnership that continues with his family today."
