A Tranmere man has been charged with attempted murder after a pedestrian was struck by a car in Neston.
Shaun Murphy, 47, of Rockybank Road, Tranmere, was arrested on Saturday 25 July in the Millfield area of Neston. He has since been charged with one count of attempted murder, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.
He appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Monday, where he was remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Chester Crown Court on August 24.
The charges in question relate to an incident at Millfield around 4 pm on July 25. A 52-year-old man was hit by a blue Audi Q3 and sustained serious injuries.
Cheshire Police are urging witnesses to come forward. They want to speak specifically to a man believed to have been riding a bike in the area at the time, the driver of a white Fiat 500 that pulled up to the scene, and members of the public who stopped to provide emergency first aid to the victim.
Police are asking anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the Millfield, Reins Court and Millcroft areas around the time of the incident to get in touch.
