Police want to speak to man in CCTV following racial abuse on Wirral Line train

British Transport Police have released images of a man they want to speak to after a passenger was racially abused on a train travelling through Tranmere. The man was on the train on August 1 and exited at Green Lane station. Police are urging anyone to come forward and identify him.

Police are looking to speak to this man who may be able to assist with their investigation.

Officers investigating a racially aggravated public order offence on a Merseyside train have released images of a man they want to speak to, as reported by Birkenhead News.

At around 8 pm on 1 August, a man racially abused another passenger on a Wirral Line service travelling between Liverpool Central and Hooton. The suspect departed the train at Green Lane station.

British Transport Police believe the man pictured may have information that could assist their investigation.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to text BTP on 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 826 of 1 August. Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
