A new sandwich shop has opened in Bromborough with long queues and lots of anticipation.
Orlo Sandwiches opened at 21A Allport Lane last month. The shop specialises in reinventing deli classics and internationally inspires sandwiches. Orlo already has a 5-star rating on Google across nine reviews at the time of writing.
They serve speciality coffee, ceremonial-grade matcha, cakes and an alternative selection of crisps.
Orlo may be new, but it could end up being one of Bebington's best new restaurants, as its origin story is inspired by its neighbour, Mexican restaurant Pina Loca.
Sean from Pina Loca actually created the concept. He developed a reputation among his colleagues for the sandwiches he would make for them.
Highlights of the new menu include the Bahn Mi, a Vietnamese-inspired creation featuring Asian pork, pâté, spicy mayo, pickled vegetables, cucumber, chillies and coriander.
The Cubano is also a favourite, and combines pulled pork, mortadella, honey mustard mayo, Emmental, pickles and hispi slaw, while the Peach Ricotta offers a sweeter twist with honey-grilled peach, ricotta, mozzarella, pesto, red onion, rocket and balsamic vinegar.
Owner of Pina Lona Babul suggested they were good enough to have a shop of their own, and that idea eventually became Orlo.
The new takeaway is open from 10am until 4pm, Monday to Saturday, offering both takeaway and delivery.
