According to Three FM, the Manxman ferry will be out of service longer than expected after maintenance work in Birkenhead uncovered the need for additional repairs.
The Steam Packet Company's flagship vessel is currently at Cammell Laird for planned work and inspections.
The delayed return means the Ben-my-Chree and Arrow will both cover the Heysham route while the Manxman remains in Birkenhead.
Steam Packet Managing Director Brian Thomson said that completing the necessary work will ensure the Manxman can be reliable for future service.
The ferry is labelled as the most modern one that currently operates in the British Isles. Its purpose is mainly for leisure, as it carries passengers to and from the Isle of Man. The capacity is up to 1,000 passengers per voyage. Passengers can stay in cabins on the ferry. It only entered service in August 2023, replacing the older Ben-my-Chree ferry.
There is no word yet on when she'll get moving from Birkenhead, though.
