Man charged with wounding after glass attack at Rock Ferry pub

A 45-year-old man has been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent after a man was slashed with a glass at a Bedford Road pub. The man suffered a slash wound on his forehead while at The Bedford, or Luke's as it's locally known, over the weekend.

A Rock Ferry man has been charged with wounding with intent after another man was attacked with a glass at a local pub.

Emergency services were called to The Bedford on Bedford Road, which is known as Luke's, at around 10:05 pm on 22 August, after reports of an assault were made.

As reported by Birkenhead News, a man in his 30s was found with a slash wound to his forehead, believed to be inflicted by a glass.

Detectives identified and arrested a suspect after enquiries were made. Steven David Rooney, 45, of Rockville Street in Rockferry, was charged with Section 18 wounding with intent.

He will appear at Liverpool Crown Court on 22 September.
