Two people have been arrested following a burglary at a flat in Tranmere on Sunday afternoon.

Police were called to a property on Hinderton Road after the home had been broken into on October 11. Stolen from the property were a laptop, bank cards, money, a driving licence, a black backpack and AirPods were stolen.

Activity found the thieves had tried to use the bank cards at local shops. The AirPods were also linked to an address.

Police investigated, and arrested two people. A 41-year-old man from Rock Ferry was arrested on suspicion of burglary with intent to steal.

A 48-year-old woman from Tranmere was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods. Both remain in police custody for questioning.

Detective Inspector Kevin O'Rourke, who leads the Burglary Investigation Team, said in a statement: "Being a victim of burglary can have a massive impact as they have had their home invaded which is an awful experience to go through.

"Our officers responded quickly and arrested two people in connection with this burglary. However we are continuing with our enquiries, and I would appeal to anyone with information to come forward."

Merseyside Police are urging residents to pay attention to their Think Like A Thief campaign, which helps them to prevent burglaries and protect their homes.
