Hunger Games films return to big screen at Vue Birkenhead ahead of new release

Vue Birkenhead is screening all five Hunger Games films in the lead-up to November's Sunrise on the Reaping release, with weekly screenings continuing through October. Sunrise on the Reaping, the latest film in the series, will be released in November.

All five films in The Hunger Games series are returning to the big screen at Vue Birkenhead ahead of the latest instalment in the Suzanne Collins series, as reported by the Wirral Globe.

The cinema is screening each film ahead of the release of Sunrise on the Reaping, which is releasing on November 20. Every Friday over the next few weeks, one of the films will be screened at the cinema.

The first film was screened last week, with the others screening on the following dates:

  • The Hunger Games: Catching Fire follows on September 11.

  • Mockingjay Part 1 on September 18.

  • Mockingjay Part 2 on September 25.

  • The season concludes with The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes on October 2.

Tony Bywood, general manager at Vue Birkenhead, said in a statement: "Almost 20 years since we were first introduced to the world of Katniss Everdeen, the Hunger Games continues to capture the heart and imagination of audiences across the world.

"For fans wanting to relive the story ahead of the latest release, our Hunger Games season is the perfect way to enjoy the films, with the ultimate seat, screen and sound experience."

The hit franchise stars Jennifer Lawrence, Woody Harrelson and Donald Sutherland in a dark dystopian world where 12 districts are ruled by the ruthless Capitol President Snow and each year, teenagers from each district compete at random in the fight-to-the-death competition The Hunger Games.
