Police are treating the sudden death of a man in Oxton over the weekend as 'unexpected'.

Around 3:55 pm on October 3, North West Ambulance Service attended a property on Reedville (CH43) where they found a man in his 20s dead inside, as reported by the Wirral Globe.

An investigation has been launched by Merseyside Police. His death is being treated as unexpected but not suspicious at this time. His next of kin has been informed of his death.

In a statement, Merseyside Police said: "As a precaution, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) have attended to assess and remove substances located inside the premises and have deemed there is no wider risk to the public at this stage."
